Community and Governance

Pax Community & Governance

Introduction

Welcome to the Pax Community & Governance documentation! Pax is committed to building a decentralized, transparent, and inclusive ecosystem where community members actively contribute to the network’s development, security, and sustainability. This document outlines how governance works, how the community can participate, and the principles that guide decision-making on Pax.

Community Involvement

The Pax Community is at the heart of the ecosystem. Members can participate in various ways, including:

  • Discussion & Feedback: Engaging in open discussions on Telegram, X (Twitter), and forums.

  • Proposals & Voting: Suggesting improvements and voting on key governance decisions.

  • Development Contributions: Building dApps, smart contracts, and tools to enhance the Pax ecosystem.

  • Security & Decentralization: Running validators and reporting security vulnerabilities.

Governance Model

Pax adopts a decentralized governance model, ensuring that no single entity has absolute control. Governance is divided into the following components:

1. Community Governance (DAO-Like Model)

A governance framework will be established where token holders can participate in key decisions through on-chain voting. Governance will be structured as follows:

  • Pax Improvement Proposals (PIPs): Community members can submit PIPs, which will be reviewed, discussed, and voted on.

  • Voting Mechanism: Token-weighted voting, where staked Pax tokens grant governance power.

  • Proposal Categories:

    • Protocol upgrades

    • Economic adjustments (e.g., staking rewards, token burns)

    • Ecosystem growth initiatives

2. Validator & Node Governance

Validators and node operators play a critical role in network security and consensus. Governance aspects include:

  • Staking Requirements: Minimum stake amount for validators.

  • Consensus Participation: Rules for participating in Proof of Stake & Proof of History consensus.

  • Slashing & Rewards: Penalties for malicious behavior and incentives for honest validators.

3. Foundation & Advisory Role

While Pax aims for full decentralization, an initial Pax Movement will oversee governance development, ensuring:

  • Fair distribution of governance power.

  • Transparent execution of proposals.

  • Development of tools for community-led governance.

Community Incentives & Rewards

To encourage participation, Pax will implement Community Rewards Programs, including:

  • Staking Rewards: Earn tokens by staking and securing the network.

  • Participation Rewards: Engage in governance, proposal discussions, and community events.

  • Bug Bounty Programs: Identify security vulnerabilities and get rewarded.

  • Ambassador Program: Promote Pax and onboard new users.

  5. Educate & Onboard: Help expand the Pax ecosystem through educational initiatives. You will be noticed 👀.

Conlclusion

Pax is more than just a blockchain—it’s a community-driven movement. Through decentralized governance, active participation, and incentives, we aim to build a resilient and self-sustaining ecosystem.
